Elixir Eats: Summer Starter Smoothie.

We are definitely a fan of clean and green smoothies. They are packed full of fruit and green leafy goodness, giving you vitality and a healthy glow from the inside out. Smoothies are a fantastic way to flood the body with nutrients, without taking away the fibre. Fibre is key for keeping your digestion regular.
This recipe is fantastic if you want to add more to your favourite juices, so we took our favourite hardcore green JUICEMAN juice with our staple smoothie ingredients and put it to the test. Pefect for a quick high protein breakfast, and the juicing has been done for you!
Ingredients
1 250ml bottle of JUICEMAN J1 detox juice
(chard + cucumber + fennel + kale + lemon + spinach + watercress)
1 very ripe banana
1 tablespoon pea protein powder
1 handful spinach leaves
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon lucuma powder
1 tablespoon ground or whole chia seeds
EXTRAS
1 inch piece fresh root ginger - antiinflammatory
1 teaspoon maca powder - energy and endurance
1 teaspoon baobab - energy and Vitamin C
1 tablepoon almond butter - extra protein, Vitamin E and healthy fats
makes one very delicious smoothie
Prep
If you don't have a ready made green juice at hand, make your own if you have a juicer. You can replace the liquid in this recipe with any juice, water or nut milk!
How we did it
Simply pop all the ingredients into a high speed blender, whizz it all together and enjoy!
ELIXIR TIP: Blending your favourite juice into a smoothie helps you benefit from the concentrated nutrition of a juice and not cutting out the fibre!
