You can honestly make a change to your skin today, with the simplest of tricks which you can turn into a habit. If you are looking to reduce the appearance of sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, heal acne scars and prevent future breakouts, follow these tips! Let us all feel confident, beautiful and radiant in our own skin!

Some of the main causes of problematic skin and acne!
Foundation applied too thickly clogs your pores and doesn't allow skin to breathe. We use Jane Iredale mineral make up for its natural, nasty free, healing plant based ingredients.
Lack of quality sleep weakens the immune system. Try to aim for at least 8 hours of sleep so you can wake up with lots of energy and a brighter complexion.
Avoid refined sugar as it promotes production of access oil. Aim to eat a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables and cut out unnecessary processed sugary snacks.
Ditch the harsh acne products, a lot of products on the high street are incredibly abrasive, which irritates and dries out skin. Opt for natural skin care, with fewer ingredients, essential oils and natural butters to heal your skin. We love Dr.Hauschka and Antipodes!
Clean your make up brushes ladies! Dirty make up brushes will result in spreading old make up and harmful bacteria all over your face, which may lead to oiliness and more breakouts. Likewise, if you use your fingers to apply your makeup, make sure they are nice and clean!
Internal issues such as sluggish digestion, food intolerances, hormone imbalances and low immunity can all contribute skin disasters. It may be worth speaking to our Naturopath to help figure out if you are suffering with any underlying health issues which may be disrupting the balance of your skin.
Stress is a huge factor in causing problematic skin. Evaluate what is causing you any stress so you are able to deal with it. High cortisol levels cause havoc on your digestion, sleep and immunity, resulting in unwanted breakouts and dull skin.

How to eat for your skin!
Drink lots of water for hydration, hydrated cells are happy cells!
Get enough protein in order to build strong hair, skin and nails.
A diet rich in antioxidants is key. For example, flavanols are an antioxidant which helps improve skin texture, you can find these in green tea and blueberries!
Lycopene is a beautifying compound which helps prevent and improve the appearance of sun damage. You can find Lycopene in tomatoes!
Vitamin E improves damaged skin by repairing skin cells. Foods rich in Vitamin E are almonds, avocado, acai berries, and many more fruits and vegetables.
We need quality fats like Omega 3 to fight inflammation! We recommend whole food sources such as chia seeds, hemp seeds and salmon, as well as a good quality Omega or fish oil supplement.
Get a daily dose of Selenium which improves the elasticity of your skin. Just 1 brazil nut is enough selenium for the day!
MSM - (methylsulfonylmethane), is a youth promoting organic mineral sulphur, which accelerates healing, strengthens hair and nails and improves skin health, complexion and flexibility as it helps rebuild collagen and cartilage!
Vitamin C is an essential antioxidant which stimulates collagen production. Collagen is what we need for plump, youthful and radiant skin.
Try a good B complex to combat dryness. B vitamins are also fantastic for a plethora of metabolic functions which may help to improve the health of your skin.
Zinc is a mineral excellent for healing skin, especially scarring from acne breakouts. Pumpkin seeds are loaded with this beautifying mineral.
